Tourmaline Nosferatu

Tourmaline is the epitome of innocence. One would expect from her high class vampire upbringing for her to be stoic and uptight, but that couldn't be farther from the case. Despite the Nosferatu families high ranking, Tourmaline's place as the youngest of five allowed her more freedom to be herself. Despite this, she still shows the regal air befitting of her family. She is happy-go-lucky, carefree, and is extremely loyal to the family that she loves. She shows love and compassion to all, and will jump at the first opportunity to help others. Because of her young age, she can also be immature, but she is often held in check by her older siblings. She has close bonds with her bats, especially Jewel, the fruit bat. She dislikes hunting, so she often uses her hypnosis far more often than her siblings.

Tourmaline is considered very beautiful by vampire standards. She has the extremely pale ashen skin that a human would describe as dead-looking. She has the typical eyes of a vampire, bright yellow eyes that glow slightly and are slitted like a cat. Her hair is a shiny silver, one of the most desirable hair colors for a vampire, and a symbol of high blood status. Her only fault is her short height, a trait shared by her sister Lorraine. Her fashion is a typical formal vampire look, with Victorian era style dresses and a heavy use of black, but she also loves the use of ruffles and bows, leading to her wearing more gothic lolita style clothes than the traditional long dresses.

The fifth child of Gabriel and Mora Nosferatu, Tourmaline is a child of the very high ranking Nosferatu clan. After the clan's near death in the early 1740's, the population of the family has been far smaller than other clans of similar rank. In the 1740's, the clan was nearly wiped out, leaving only the young adult Lyllith and her infant son Gabriel. Lyllith was only 22 at the time, barely more than a child by vampire standards, and she had yet to develop the wisdom of an adult, resulting in the still very young Lyllith having to raise the baby Gabriel on her own. The family was also still a part of the high vampire council, so Lyllith was also required to go through the blood moon ceremony to become the head of her clan. While she gained the extra power that that rank entailed, she was not wise enough to be able to lead properly. Thusly, the vampire council opted to leave the Nosferatu families spot in their ranks empty until she became older. Gabriel, having black hair, was unable to become the next family head without losing status, so it became imperative that he marry someone with proper hair. Thankfully, after years of searching for a proper suitor, in the early 1790’s he met Mora, an outcast who had rebelled from her clan due to her families oppressive rules and her rebellious personality. Quickly, the shy and timid Gabriel and the fiery and sharp-tongued Mora fell in love with each other, much to the ire of Lyllith. Over time, Mora and Lyllith came to understand and appreciate each other, though they never stopped fighting. They spent many years in debates with Mora’s original clan, the family arguing that Mora belonged to them, despite Mora herself claiming otherwise. After many years, Mora was finally allowed to properly marry into the Nosferatu clan, and Lyllith had finally aged enough to earn her spot on the high vampire council. They gave birth to Elizabeth, the oldest child and heir to the title of family head. Afterwards they had Niles and Tereza, who did not have desired hair colors, then Lorraine, and finally Tourmaline, who had desirable colors. Elizabeth, Lorraine, and Tourmaline were raised far more formally than Niles and Tereza, leading to some separation from the two groups of siblings. The formal children do not have bias against their siblings, but Niles and Tereza are slightly jealous. Tourmaline loves all of her family, and gets along with all of them, not counting some sibling teasing. She is closest to Elizabeth and Lorraine, with Elizabeth having taken care of her and Lorraine when their parents were busy when they were little, and Lorraine being the closest in age and having spent the most time together. She also enjoys playing games with Tereza, and loves playfully teasing Niles. She is often babied by her father, and her mother is strict but loving. Tourmaline also gets along well with Lyllith, and is debatably the closest to her other than Elizabeth.

Lyllith is a wise and bold leader, who often takes a mentor-like relationship with her grandchildren. She has a lot of responsibilities being the family head and a member of the high vampire council, but she always tries to be there for her family, and make sure that they don't repeat her mistakes.

Gabriel is a timid and passive man, but intensely loves his family. He and Mora love each other dearly, and he also has a close relationship with his mother. He was the main caretaker of Niles and Tereza, so he is somewhat closer to those two than his other kids.

Mora is a woman with a sharp mind and an even sharper tongue. She is not afraid to tell you what's up. She loves her husband, and despite frequent arguments, appreciates Lyllith for what she's done and been through. She was the main caretaker of Elizabeth, Lorraine, and Tourmaline, so she is somewhat closer to them then the other two.

Elizabeth, also known as Eli by Tourmaline, is the heir to the family, and takes that very seriously. She is very stoic, rarely expressing emotion, but she has an aggressive side, and will not hesitate to protect her siblings. Due to being significantly older, she helped take care of Lorraine and Tourmaline when they were little, so she is especially protective of them.

Niles is a crass and snappy man who loves to tease his sisters. Some may call him cruel or heartless, but it's only because he has trouble expressing emotion to other people. He truly loves his sisters, he just has trouble expressing it in ways other than teasing. He is the epitome of the "no one is allowed to be a jerk to my sisters but me" stereotype of big brothers. He has a bit of an inferiority complex over Elizabeth, so the two sass one another often. He is especially vicious at teasing Tereza, because of him spending the most time with her, and him feeling like she is useless or somewhat pathetic.

Tereza is a cheery, if clumbsy and forgetful, young woman. She is loving and caring, but tends to be all over the place. She is more invested in her friends then her family, but she still loves them. She is constantly fighting with Niles, but they are actually the two closest siblings to each other.

Lorraine is a stoic but kind girl who cares for her family, especially Tourmaline. Lorraine never shows any emotions except occasional small smiles, and many people have called her an emotionless doll. Her siblings know better however, especially Tourmaline, that Lorraine does feel emotions, even if she's not the best at showing it. Lorraine is closest to Tourmaline and Elizabeth, but especially Tourmaline. She watches over and protects her cheery and innocent little sister, and rarely seperates from her. It's also not uncommon for the two of them to pull pranks together.
